Oil and Gas shrink wrap solution

Shrink Wrap provides the ideal solution for various containment and protection issues facing the Oil and Gas market. Our products and services are predominately used on structures, equipment and machinery in the upstream sector:

Maintenance containment

The structures of drilling rigs frequently need re-coating to prevent corrosion damage. This involves first removing the old layer of coating by blasting; creating harmful residue that has the potential to damage the surrounding environment:

We carried out the onshore scaffold encapsulation of a topside module for Shell Brunei while blasting took place. The use of shrink wrap provided full containment by preventing garnet blasting residue from reaching and polluting the nearby river. Final seal can also be applied for additional containment.

Storage protection

Individual components of oil and gas operations also require protection. When commissioning on projects has been delayed, it can mean the newly built equipment that was intended to be used isn’t immediately required and needs to be stored.

This presents the problem of ensuring these sensitive components will not be damaged while in storage; particularly if they are to be kept outside.

Our shrink wrap was used to encapsulate an individual Caisson for Isleburn, which formed part of a drilling rig. This allowed it to be stored outside until it was required; fully protected from the elements.
