Tufcoat have continued to provide their value and expertise to heritage restoration projects by recently completing encapsulation for the Royal Shakespeare Company as part of a £2.8 million project.

Working with Tamworth scaffolding on the Heritage Lottery Funded project, Tufcoat installed almost 700m² of shrink wrap sheeting over two visits to The Swan Wing, the oldest part of the Royal Shakespeare Company estate in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Shrink wrap sheeting was chosen for the project not only for its protective values but also the neat, aesthetic finish it provided to the site. The shrink wrapped gable ends complemented the front façade, with a banner graphic showing a photographic image of Swan Theatre installed to the elevation.

The projects importance from both a conservation perspective and that of time sensitivity has been emphasized due to the creation of a major new exhibition opening in 2016 which coincides with the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

This is the latest project in which Tufcoat’s specialism within the conservation sector has been proven having worked closely with English Heritage and more recently The National Trust on projects such as Dyrham House and Elvaston Castle during roofing and external repairs.

Tufcoat shrink wrap helps heritage projects stick to deadlines by allowing works to continue all year round whilst maintaining an aesthetically pleasing site and image for the public.
