Boat Shrink Wrapping Whilst Afloat

Our London, UK based distributor Deckhands was approached by a number of customers who wished to protect their vessels against damage during winter storage but did not want to lift the vessels ashore. The solution? Shrink wrap the vessels whilst they remained afloat.

The process was fairly straightforward; A perimeter band was taken around the vessel as normal and the film unfolded over the top of the boat and taken around the band. For the final heat shrink process, first one side of the boat was heat shrunk before it was spun around and the other half completed. Finally a zipped access door was installed so that the owner could easily access the boat during the winter months.
