Milestone Project: Airbus – Aviation Transport Protection

As one of our original customers, we’ve been working with Airbus for aviation transport protection for over 20 years.

Airbus approached Tufcoat with a highly specialised brief, requiring a solution to protect the wing sets of the A380 Aircraft from Broughton, UK to the A380 final assembly line in Toulouse, France. At 11m wide, tapering to 3m and approx 45m long, the wings are transported by sea and land as they are too big for the Airbus Beluga, a bespoke plane used to transport large components.

Despite the A380 no longer being made, Tufcoat continue to provide wing covers for the latest Airbus aircraft in production.  In a collaborative effort, we have adapted and evolved the original design to meet the changing requirements.
