Offsite Construction

Shrink wrap sheeting

Wall sections can be shrink-wrapped for storage on site. Instead of using a Podbag, shrink wrap sheeting can be used to completely encapsulate each wall section.

All of Tufcoat's shrink wrap films contain additives such as UVI which protects wrapped goods against degradation caused by ultra-violet sunlight when stored outside. Other additives prevent the film becoming brittle at low temperatures.

Removal & disposal of shrink wrap

Shrink wrap is easy to remove and recycle. The shrink wrap will only stick to itself and not the item being protected, so the cover can be simply cut off. It is good practice to use a safety knife so that the product is not accidentally damaged when the cover is removed.

Tufcoat run the Re-bag™ recycling scheme; under this scheme, a bag with an address label is supplied with each cover; when the module reaches its destination, the shrink wrap cover is removed and stuffed into the bag to be collected and returned to Tufcoat or the nearest recycling depot.

Getting started

Tufcoat provide a full installation service but most customers prefer an on-site training session which then allows future shrink-wrapping work to be done in-house.
