Application Notes #1...

Shrink wrap scaffolding for containment & protection

Shrink wrapping describes the technique of covering a scaffold structure with a heavy duty plastic film. This shrink wrap is heat shrink using a powerful hand held hot air gun to create a moulded covering that fits 'as tight as a drum skin'.

With conventional 'individual sheet' cladding (eg. Monarflex / Monoflex), it is difficult to contain dust, water, paint, fumes and other pollutants. Shrink wrapping creates a continuous bonded skin with heat sealed overlaps.

Shrink wrapping is versatile and easy to use, almost any size or shaped object can be covered. Shrink wrapping enables construction work to take place during bad weather, minimising costs and aiding projects to be completed to schedule. It also enables dust and debris to be contained and can be used to create temporary workshops. Zipped access doors; windows and ventilation are easily installed.

Shrink wrap film

Tufcoat shrink wrap films are specially formulated and contain additives for example: to inhibit degradation of the shrink wrap due to extended exposure to sunlight; and to prevent brittling at low temperatures.

In addition to the shrink wrap material, Tufcoat also supply a complete range of equipment and accessories.
