Tufcoat
has successfully trialled the protection of train modules during
six-week delivery shipments from the UK to the Far East.
Each
module is covered with 12m long heavy-duty
film, fitted by heat shrinking. This creates
a tightly fitting cover which moulds to the modules' shape and
cannot flap or chafe in high winds.
Tests showed
that, in comparison, tarpaulins were easily damaged by high winds
and the heavy rain typical of typhoon season
would lead to water ingress.
Tufcoat shrink-wrap
prevented costly, time-consuming remedial work being required once
the modules reached the customer.
